Adison Harvey Myer

Adison Harvey Myer was born on Easter Sunday, March 27, 1921 at Onida, South Dakota to parents Harvey Rosco and Edith (Morris) Myer.
Adison lived in South Dakota until the deaths of both his parents. At the age of 14 he came to live with his Uncle E. F. Myer in Logan, Iowa. After graduating from Logan High School, he attended a drafting school in Omaha. He moved to California and worked in the experimental section at Lockheed Airplane Factory. He helped build the first pressurized cabin aircraft.
On April 12, 1942, Adison married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy Mae Holeton at Burbank, California. In December of 1943, the couple moved back to Iowa with their baby daughter. In Iowa, Adison spent over forty years on the farm. He was a farmer, inventor, carpenter, mechanic and businessman. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Woodbine.
On November 28, 1997, Adison moved to Skyline Manor in Omaha, Nebraska to be close to his daughter. On August 17, 2003, Adison died at the Hospice House, Josie Harper Residence in Omaha at the age of 82 years, four months and 21 days.
Adison was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dorothy on November 28, 1996, and a sister, Marie Freeze Timperly. He is survived by his three daughters, Anita B. Myer of Westphalia, Iowa, Nancy I. and husband Terry Paxton of Oskaloosa, Iowa and Peggy C. Thunn of LaVista, Nebraska; eight grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; seven nieces and nephews; first cousin, thought of as a brother, Arthur Myer of Logan; and extended family, Mary Jean Killpack of San Diego, California, Ann Harms George of Blair, Nebraska and Albert and wife Judy Harms of Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
