Amos Griffith

Amos Lyle Griffith, 83, passed away May 11, 2005 in the comfort of his beautiful home in Mesa, Arizona.

Amos was born in Pisgah Iowa on January 31, 1922, to Nellie Rogers Griffith and Amos J. Griffith. He married Maxine Harris on December 22, 1943, and they were blessed with five children, Mary, Jane, Bill, Bob and Susan. Amos operated a successful International Hardware dealership and hardware stores in Moorhead, Pisgah and Mapleton, Iowa. Amos retired at age 48 and traveled extensively in the United States with 11 RVs and visited 27 foreign countries.

He was preceded in death by his sister Marie Moad. Survivors include his wife Maxine Harris Griffith of Mesa, AZ ; five children, Mary & husband Richard Leahy of Omaha, NE, Jane Stueve of Omaha, NE, Bill Griffith of Fulton, MO, Bob Griffith & wife Andrea of Mesa, AZ and Susan & husband Kevin Simich of Fort Worth, TX, 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and one brother, Leo Griffith of Omaha, NE.
