Anita Michel

Anita Marie (Blum) Michel was born on February 22, 1957, to Vernon and Irene (Kloewer) Blum in Harlan, Iowa. She was raised in Panama, Iowa, attended St. Mary’s Catholic School, and Harlan High School, and she graduated with the class of 1975. Anita then went on to Jennie Edmundson Nursing School. Anita married Dale Michel on September 23, 1977, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Woodbine. Anita worked at Mickel’s Restaurant, Rose Vista Nursing Home, Dunlap Care Center and Westmont Nursing Home.

Anita was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She loved to quilt and sew. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, walking, reading, and camping. Most of all Anita loved her grandchildren.

Anita died on Friday, April 19, 2019, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 62 years, one month and 28 days.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Amy Michel. She is survived by her husband, Dale Michel of Woodbine, Iowa; son, Ryan Michel and his wife Lacey of Woodbine, Iowa; daughter, Stephanie and her husband David Rhoten of Council Bluffs, Iowa; five grandchildren; three sisters, Debbie and her husband Max Maxwell and Sharon Cherry all of Denver, Colorado, Brenda and her husband Michael Keegan of Littleton, Colorado; two brothers, Dennis Blum and his wife Kristen of India and Glen Blum of Portland, Oregon; and many other relatives and friends.
