Anna Marie (Meyer) McHugh was born March 15, 1931, to Fred and Margaret (Peters) Meyer in Avoca, Iowa. The family later moved to Omaha, Nebraska where Anna attended Benson High School. On December 10, 1949, she married Daniel McHugh in Jasper County, Missouri. The couple farmed between Moorhead and Pisgah before moving to Woodbine in August of 1973. Daniel died on November 15, 1981.
Anna loved country music - especially George Strait. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, her grand kids and cats.
Anna died on Wednesday, May 25, 2005, at Rose Vista Nursing Home attaining the age of 74 years, two months, and 11 days.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Kevin "Pete" in 1975, Vincent in 2001; sister, Dorothy Philippe; and two brothers, Kenny Meyer and Erwin Kruse. She is survived by her five children, Rose and her husband Robert Harrison of Omaha, Nebraska, Sara and her husband Boone Christo of Logan, Iowa, Dan McHugh and his wife Julieta of Woodbine, Iowa, Rodney McHugh and his wife Dottie of Woodbine, Iowa, Janice and her husband Ronnie Gorham of Plattsburg, Missouri; 10 grandchildren; three sisters, Catherine and her husband Dick Stone of Honey Creek, Iowa, Margie and her husband Richard Hatcher of Logan, Iowa, Ethel and her husband Dick Hearn of Carter Lake, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
