Betty White

Betty Ann (Rock) White was born January 24, 1926, in Woodbine, Iowa to Daniel Joseph and Thelma (Donnelson) Rock. Betty graduated from Woodbine High School in 1944 and then taught country school for six years. She went to California to visit for the summer and decided to stay in California. Betty met her future husband in California, Charles "Whitey" White. Betty worked for General Telephone. Whitey was killed in a car accident in 1973 so Betty took an early retirement from the phone company and moved back to Omaha in the 80's. She worked at various jobs in Omaha.

Betty liked to go to movies and attend various productions at the Orpheum and the Community Theater. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and she loved her cats.

Betty died on Monday, November 23, 2015, at the Nebraska University Medical Center in Omaha at the age of 89 years, nine months and 30 days.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Thelma Rock; husband, Charles "Whitey" White; brother, Don "Pat" Rock and sister-in-law, Donna Rock. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy "Patsy" Rock, niece, Linda Rock-Paul and her husband Victor Paul; nephews, Daniel Rock and his wife Susan and Larry Rock and his wife Melissa all of Omaha, Nebraska; nine great nieces and nephews and many cousins and friends.
