Beulah Harriet (Sharp) Mulligan was born December 18, 1918, to Harry and Olga (Olsen) Sharp in Dow City Iowa. She was raised near Dow City and attended school. Beulah then went to work in Missouri Valley, Iowa. On May 12, 1937, Beulah married Benton William Mulligan at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dunlap. Father Walker was the presiding priest. The couple lived in Dunlap. Beulah worked for Georgia Hagen, cooked at St. Joseph Catholic School, and the Dunlap Public Schools. For a short time the couple took a job near Boone, Iowa at the Episcopalian Church Camp, but they returned to Dunlap. Ben died in 1984.
Beulah was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She enjoyed playing Bingo and playing cards. She particularly enjoyed spending time with her family. She also loved to clean her house.
Beulah died Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at the Dunlap Care Center at the age of 95 years, one month, and 17 days.
Beulah was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ben Mulligan; son, Bobby Joe Mulligan; grandson, Martin Olmstead; daughter-in-law, Joyce Mulligan; son-in-law, Bill Wingrove; two sisters, Irene Cole and Betty Larson; and brother, Vernon Sharp. She is survived by her five children, Carolyn Wingrove of Dow City, Iowa, Benny Mulligan of Dunlap, Iowa, Mary Pat (Mick) Olmstead of Dunlap, Iowa, Chuck (Kandy) Mulligan of Annapolis, Maryland, Tim (Carol) Mulligan of Indialantic, Florida; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Vinton Sharp of Denison, Iowa, Jess (Sue) Sharp of Columbus, Nebraska; two sisters, Alma Gantos of Meridian, California, Mary Raymer of Macomb, Illinois; and many other relatives and friends.
