Beverly Dawn (Burger) Coyle was born on April 17, 1932, near Soldier, Iowa to James and Vivian (Ballard) Burger. She grew up in the Lake City and Pisgah, Iowa areas graduating from Pisgah High School in 1949. She then attended Commercial Extension College in Omaha. On January 2, 1950, Bev married Darrell Coyle at Rockport, Missouri. The couple farmed south of Pisgah. In 1963, Bev went to Barnes Beauty School in Council Bluffs. She operated her beauty shop in her home and then in Pisgah until she retired in 2012 at the age of 80.
Bev was a member of the Pisgah United Methodist Church. She helped with the Fun and Fellowship program at church and helped with many church dinners. She also helped with the Pisgah Play Days for many years. Bev was a great cook, liked to garden, read, sew and watch birds.
Bev passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at the Ariza Health Longview Nursing Home in Missouri Valley at the age of 89 years, four months and 17 days.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Brandon Clark. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Darrell Coyle; four children, Gregg Coyle and his wife Cindy of Athens, Georgia, Denise and her husband Jeff Clark of Pisgah, Iowa, Scott Coyle of Logan, Iowa and Jeremy Coyle and his girlfriend TJ Freeborn of Johnston, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; brother, Lyle Hinkel of Minnesota; sister, Judy Henderson of Ohio and many other relatives and friends.
