Robert William Baker was born February 6, 1941, to Everett and Nellie (Thompson) Baker in Dunlap, Iowa. He was raised in Dunlap and graduated from Dunlap High School in 1960. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1961 - 1963. Bob married Linda Slagle on February 4, 1966. The couple was blessed with one son, Robert Bryan. Bob worked for Woodbine Manufacturing for 30 years as a machinist and as a janitor.

Bob loved spending weekends with his grandkids. He enjoyed taking the kids fishing and bowling. He enjoyed bird watching and walking his dogs. He was insistent about watching WWE wrestling.

Bob died on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 69 years, five months, and 22 days.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Gary, John and Paul Baker. He is survived by his wife, Linda Baker of Woodbine, Iowa; son Robert and his wife JoAnn Baker of Omaha, Nebraska; three grandchildren, Ethan, Autumn and Alex; sister, LaVonne James of Rio Hondo, Texas; sisters-in-law Doratt Baker of Panhandle, Texas and Rosa Slagle of Woodbine, Iowa; brothers-in-law, and Peg Slagle of Corley, Iowa, Denny and Peg Slagle of Dunlap, Iowa, Steve and Susie Slagle of Harlan, Iowa and Ron and Konda Slagle of Sac City, Iowa; loving nieces (his girls); nephews (his buddies) and many other relatives and friends.
