Bryan Santo Scichilone of Louisville, Kentucky an extraordinary loving soul who has deeply touched our lives, along with many others, has departed this earth for his heavenly home.
Bryan was born to Rita Heistand and Marshall Scichilone on October 12th 1973 and passed away Friday December 13th 2013. Bryan was beloved in the community and focused his efforts and attention largely on helping others. He taught with excellence as Associate Professor of English and Head of Developmental English Department at Jefferson Community College, and was a favorite among the students he humbly served. Bryan earned his MA from Western Washington University and was a gifted poet and published author. Bryan had many professional and personal accolades but his greatest achievement and legacy was the way he cared for others, particularly his family. From football, poetry, teaching, to being a husband, Bryan did everything perfectly
Bryan is survived by the love of his life, his wife Love Yascone; his mother Rita & father Marshall; grandmother Rose; siblings Andrea and her husband Mark Harper, Joanna and her husband of Dan Shaw all of Woodbine, Iowa, and Al Scichilone of Des Moines, Iowa; as well as 4 nieces and 3 nephews. Bryan is also survived by Love's sisters, whom he also called his own, Joy & Faith Yascone, and his wife's mother, Glenda and his beloved best friend Cheyenne.
A celebration of Bryan's life will be held at Bernheim Forest, in the Garden Pavilion, Friday December 20th at 12:30pm.
