Carolyn Sue (Driggs) Lewis was born December 22, 1950, to Glenn and Elsie (Slover) Driggs in Logan, Iowa. She was raised in Woodbine and graduated from the Woodbine High School. Carolyn married Glen E. Lewis, Jr. on January 28, 1967, at the Presbyterian Church in Woodbine. The couple was never blessed with children, but they enjoyed living next door to Carolyn's parents and helping them. Carolyn also helped Glen farm and pick apples for the Harpers. The couple enjoyed having animals such as: skunks, raccoons, guinea pigs, a parrot, parakeet, cockatoo, and many cats and dogs. Carolyn's last dog was named Brownie and he was her body guard and great friend. Glen died on February 21, 2011.
Carolyn enjoyed sewing, writing to pen pals and listening to music. At one time, Carolyn had 50 pen pals. Her favorite musicians were Mark Lowrey, Gene Pitney, The Everly Brothers, Bobby Vee and many others. She particularly enjoyed religious music and programs on tv.
Carolyn died on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at the Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine at the age of 66 years and 26 days.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Glen Lewis. She is survived by her two sisters, Rosemary (Harold) Stevens of Branson, Missouri, Elizabeth (Tom) Head of Hollister, Missouri; brother, Roger (Barbara) Driggs of DeSoto, Missouri; the wonderful staff at the Rose Vista Nursing Home; and many other relatives and friends.
