Charles Harry Warner was born May 8, 1920, to George Wallace and Blanche (Smetana) Warner in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. He was raised in Plattsmouth and graduated from Plattsmouth High School in 1937. Chuck worked for the railroad as well as the family farm. He then joined the U.S. Army Air Corp and proudly served his country for three years. He served in the Philippines, New Guinea, Australia, and other Pacific Islands. On February 9, 1947, Chuck married Dorothy Michel at the Christian Church in Woodbine. The couple farmed in Glenwood and Woodbine. They then moved to Bellevue where Chuck worked for Vickers in Omaha. They moved back to Woodbine to farm, in 1958 they bought the John Deere Implement Dealership "Warner Implement", and moved into town 1959. Chuck retired in 1985.

Chuck was a member of the Christian Church. The couple enjoyed fishing in Minnesota. Chuck also enjoyed playing cards, collecting guns, and shopping - for fishing equipment or groceries. He enjoyed traveling and going out to eat as well.

Chuck died on Tuesday, February 26, 2008, at Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine, Iowa attaining the age of 87 years, nine months, and 18 days.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Vivian Jacobberger. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Warner; two sons, Charles H. (Melody) Warner and Gary L. (Marie) Warner all of Woodbine, Iowa; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one sister, Marilou (Robert) Wohlfarth of Webster, Wisconsin; and many other relatives and friends.
