Charlotte Pauline (Herman) Holben was born on June 15, 1909 in Logan, Iowa to parents William Carl and Ida (Michael) Herman. She graduated from the Magnolia High School in 1925. Charlotte was one of the first employees for the company that is now known as Perfection Form. On June 29, 1927, Charlotte married Howard Holben at her parents home. This union was blessed with eight children, six daughters and two sons. The couple farmed in the Logan area until they moved into Logan to own and operate the Logan Rest Home for 15 years. They celebrated 63 years of marriage before Howard death on October 29, 1990.

Charlotte was a faithful member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Logan and deeply loved her Lord and Savior. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved her family, flowers and garden.

Charlotte died on Monday, August 30, 2004 at the Westmont Care Center in Logan, Iowa at the age of 95 years, two months and 15 days.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Howard, son Leslie, four sisters Edith, Erma, Marie and Ella and two brothers Herbert and Elmer. She is survived by her children Shirley Cooper of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Idamae Fake & her husband Tom of Denison, Iowa, Dorothy Elias Busch & her husband Clarence of Persia, Iowa, Jeannie Netsch & her husband Marlyn of Bennington, Nebraska, Karolyn Weed of Chicago, Illinois, Dona Emswiler & her husband Tom of Logan, Iowa and Ronnie Holben of Omaha, Nebraska; daughter-in-law Esta Holben of Dallas, Texas; 25 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild and many other relatives and friends.
