Colleen Ann (Mulligan) Eggers was born April 23, 1925, in Logan, Iowa to Owen James and Grace Edith (Colton) Mulligan. She was raised in the Dunlap area and in 1943; she graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School in Dunlap, Iowa. Colleen married Homer Eggers on October 16, 1943. The couple made their home in Dunlap. Colleen was a stay at home wife and mother.
Colleen was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the Dunlap American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, playing cards and walking.
Colleen died on Saturday, February 4, 2012, at the Dunlap Nursing and Rehab Center at the age of 86 years, nine months and 12 days.
Colleen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Homer Eggers on September 17, 2011; daughter-in-law, Jane Eggers; and brother, Jerry Mulligan. She is survived by her son, Larry Eggers of Dunlap, Iowa; three granddaughters, Susie Eggers and Ray Sorenson of Omaha, Nebraska, Jennifer Eggers and Bill Nelson of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Christy Kizer of Omaha, Nebraska; seven great-grandchildren, Emma, Jason, Macayla, Raelynn, Cole, Bryant and Adison; brother, Gail Mulligan and his wife Rose of Omaha, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Jeanette Mulligan of Omaha, Nebraska; and many other relatives and friends.
