Colleen Kay Lembke was born on April 27, 1962 in Omaha, Nebraska to parents Marvin and Mary Jane (Emge) Mefferd. Coke grew up in Woodbine and graduated from Woodbine High School with the class of 1980. She then attended Iowa Western Community College for Child Care Development. Coke married Tim Kroll and to this union one son, Adam was born. The couple lived in Woodbine. Coke received her LPN degree and worked at Westmont Nursing Home in Logan and Longview Nursing Home in Missouri Valley. In 1994 Colleen married Gordon Lembke and they lived in Dunlap. Following the tragic death of her son Adam, Coke and Gordon moved to Sheffield, Iowa. Coke worked at the nursing home in Sheffield for a number of years.
Coke loved to listen to music and sing. She loved spending time and spoiling her grandkids. When she had some free time you could find Coke curled up in her chair reading a romance novel and writing in her journal. As the sun would go down, you could find Coke and Gordon sitting around a bonfire, enjoying the peacefulness of the evening. Christmas was a special time for Coke and she would always call her nieces and nephews to see what they received for Christmas.
