Connie Lou (Hall) Taylor, 70, of Woodbine, Iowa died on Monday, November 24, 2008, at her home. She was born January 9, 1938, to Frank and Rosella (Stanek) Hall in Fontanelle, Iowa. She attended country school at Richland Township then moved to Fontanelle and graduated from Fontanelle High School in 1955. After graduation Connie worked in Des Moines for Equitable Life of Iowa for two years. She then moved to Greenfield and worked for the Don Carlos law firm for five years. Connie married Norlyn Taylor on May 7, 1961. They were the first couple to get married at the Methodist Church in Greenfield, Iowa. They moved to Harlan in 1963 and then to Woodbine in 1968. Connie and Norlyn worked together at Taylor Ag for many years.
Connie was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Evening Circle and United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Eastern Star and had served as Worthy Matron. She was also a member of P.E.O. and Red Hat Society. Connie and Norlyn wintered in Arizona for several years. Connie loved her time there, and she served as the activity director at their park. Connie enjoyed going out to eat, traveling, sewing, and shopping. She particularly enjoyed her grandchildren. Connie was a classy lady and kept a nice orderly home.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Norlyn Taylor of Woodbine, Iowa; two daughters, Lori (Gary) Dickinson of Woodbine, Iowa and Traci (Richard "Kell") Kelly of Dubuque, Iowa; five grandchildren; sister, Judy (David) Jenkins of St. Peters, Minnesota; brother Terry (Susan) Hall of Algona, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends. We will never replace Connie, but her love, her spirit, and her inspiration will be with us forever.
