Dacy Quick Poe
Dacy Quick Poe was born July 21, 1910, in Dunlap, Iowa to parents Oscar and Minnie (Fouts) Quick. She graduated from Dunlap High School with the Class of 1927. On May 4, 1929, she married Dallas Poe in Woodbine, Iowa at the parsonage of Elder Fred Fry. Dacy worked at several Department Stores in Council Bluffs including Babytown which she managed. Dacy enjoyed crafts of all kinds especially oil painting. Dacy was also very proud to help with the cancer drive in Dow City and volunteering her time whenever it was needed.
Dacy died October 4, 2003, at the Risen Son Nursing Home in Council Bluffs, Iowa at the age of 93 years, two months, and 13 days.
Dacy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dallas in 1977, two sons David at the age of 3 and Noel as an infant, one daughter Karen as an infant and eight brothers and sisters. She is survived by four daughters Joan & James Reneau of Independence, Missouri; Polly & Gerald Easterhouse of Lake Ozark, Missouri, Judith & Larry Keele of Mason City, Iowa and Pamela & Donald Mathena of Council Bluffs, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and one sister Maxine McDunn of Council Bluffs, Iowa.
