Daniel McGregor Clark was born on January 12, 1921, to Charles and Lizzie Clulow Clark on the family farm near Logan,  Iowa, and attended country school near Logan. Danny met Maxine Reynolds at a church camp meeting in Woodbine. They were united in marriage on November 30, 1939, in Cameron, Missouri with Maxine’s brother, Howard, officiating. Later they moved to Wichita, Kansas where Danny worked in the Boeing plant before moving back to Logan to the family farm and he resumed farming.

Danny and Maxine spent their winters traveling with friends from the West Coast to the East Coast in their motor home. He enjoyed his fishing trips with friends to Minnesota, the Colorado mountains, and deep sea fishing off the coast of California. He loved country music, especially the Tex Ritter song, Rye Whiskey. Danny enjoyed his morning coffee with his buddies at the Corn Palace, eating at the Gold Slipper with a CC7 and lunch with his new friends at the Senior Center. He liked watching old westerns, Wheel of Fortune, politics and even having a good argument. He was a gentle giant, and his bark was always worse than his bite. He loved his family and enjoyed buying his grandkids toys like: mini bikes, pinball machine,  3 and 4 wheelers, and a pool table. On Sundays he looked forward to dinner with Jackie and her family. He loved when Jackie took him for rides.

During the 50s and 60s, Danny spent many days traveling Iowa recruiting for the NFO (National Farmers Organization). He worked for many different feed companies. He was involved in a semi truck company ~ Pryor, Finken and Clark ~ with his nephew, Wendell Reynolds as the driver. He also raised hogs and cattle and farmed until retirement. In later years he built duplexes and moved and   purchased homes he rented out with the help of Jim and Norma Rock. Additionally, he served on the Logan Magnolia School Board.

Danny died on Saturday, October 24, 2020, at Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa at the age of 99 years, nine months, and 12 days.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maxine on April 5, 2018; seven siblings, Donald “Pete” Clark, Dorothy Kalstrup, Francis Walters, Naomi McGee, Chuck Clark, June Clark, and Joseph Clark. He is survived by his three children, Gary (Karen) Clark of Logan, Rochelle (Tim) Epperson of Colorado Springs, CO, Jackie (Monte) Jacobsen of Missouri Valley; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; brother, Verne Clark of Wichita, KS; sister Marjorie Dyas of Blair, NE; and many other relatives and friends.
