     David Eugene Lewis was born on March 21, 1962, in Toledo, Ohio to Jerry and Andrea (Steen) Lewis. He grew up in Ohio, graduating in 1980. Dave then joined the United States Army. In 2000, Dave met Sue Ann Jones and the two were married in Logan, Iowa in 2003. The lived in Missouri Valley, Logan and then made Woodbine, Iowa their home. Dave worked as a Field Supervisor for Telepartners Communications in Logan and then for Direct TV. He was known to most people as the “Cable Guy”. Following an accident at work, Dave took an early retirement in 2010.

     Dave was an avid Michigan Wolverines fan. He enjoyed working in the garden with Sue and feeding the birds and squirrels. Most of all, Dave loved his family.

     Dave died unexpectantly on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at his home in Woodbine, Iowa at the age of 60 years, 10 months and 11 days.

     Dave was preceded in death by his stepfather, Richard Wellman; father; and sister, Denise Lewis. He is survived by his wife Sue Lewis of Woodbine; daughter, Courtney and her husband Ryan Hermanson of Texas; sons, John Smith and Geoffrey Smith of Woodbine; daughters, Melinda and Elizabeth Lewis of Woodbine; grandsons, Benny and Banks Hermanson; mother, Andrea Wellman of Oregan, Ohio; brother, Dan Lewis and his wife Holly of Toledo, Ohio; sister, Cindy and her husband Craig Bartley of Ohio; and many other relatives and friends.
