Dean Barry

Dean Keith Barry was born April 29, 1923, to Ben and Velva (Collins) Barry in Woodbine, Iowa. He attended country school and graduated from Woodbine High School. Dean started his career in farming and raising cattle with his parents. On January 31, 1946, Dean married Wilda Mae Willard. The couple continued farming south of Woodbine.

Dean loved the farm life and raising cattle. He also loved traveling, dancing and going to ball games. He enjoyed flowers, birds, pheasants, and deer. Dean specifically loved his family and going to the kids and grandkids activities. He took particular enjoyment in riding motorcycles and lighting fireworks.

Dean died Saturday, October 18, 2008, at Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine, Iowa at the age of 85 years, 5 months, and 19 days.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Wilda on April 28, 2003. He is survived by his four children Lynn and Brenda Barry, Sharon and Bob Sauvain, Randy and Lori Barry all of Woodbine, Iowa and Kim Barry of Omaha, Nebraska; seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
