Delbert Harrison Grosvenor was born July 3, 1920, to Julius and Augusta (Coyle) Grosvenor at Hardscratch, Iowa. Augusta died in child birth. Julius later married Carrie Seyler. Delbert grew up in the Reader Mills area of Hardscratch. He attended country school and Logan High School graduating in 1938. After graduation, Delbert helped his parents on the farm. On June 18, 1950, Delbert married Elba Howard at the RLDS Church in Missouri Valley. The couple farmed south of Magnolia until their retirement in 1992 when they moved into Logan. Delbert was a member of Mondamin RLDS Church.
Delbert died on Tuesday, November 6, 2007, at Rose Vista Nursing Home attaining the age of 87 years, four months, and three days.
Delbert was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elba; two sisters, Dorothy Lamberson and Hattie Klefmann; one brother, Carl N. Grosvenor; and Cathy Fouts Hammitt whom he raised as a daughter. Delbert is survived by Linda Fouts Sills whom he raised as a daughter, and her husband Terrence of Dunlap, Illinois; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephew and other relatives and friends.
