Delores Frieze

Delores Ilene (Cornelison) Frieze was born May 28, 1939, in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Carol and Florence (Wilson) Cornelison. She grew up in Council Bluffs and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. She worked as a waitress in Council Bluffs following her graduation. Delores married Robert Frieze on February 23, 1957, at Faith Lutheran Church in Council Bluffs. The couple lived in Council Bluffs until 1976, and then they moved to Persia and she worked as a teller at the Persia Bank. In 1998 the couple moved to Harlan, Iowa, and she worked as a cashier at Mickel's Restaurant.

Delores loved her children and grandchildren. She liked to bowl, square dance, and she loved her Chicago Cubs.

Delores died Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 69 years, 11 months and eight days.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark Frieze; and three brothers, Gary, Larry and Ray Cornelison. She is survived by husband, Robert Frieze of Harlan, Iowa; three children, Susan and Dean Esser of Portsmouth, Iowa, Larry and Angela Frieze of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Nancy and David Gau of Lincoln, Nebraska; six grandchildren; two step grandchildren; one brother, Carol & Sheryl Cornelison, Jr. of Council Bluffs, Iowa and many other relatives and friends.
