Delores Adella (Katzenberger) Koski was born June 20, 1927, to Noble and Adella (Cleveland) Katzenberger in Ewing, Nebraska. She moved with her family to Woodbine in 1928. Delores attended Douglas Center Country School and graduated from the 8th grade. Delores married Thomas Koski, Jr., on August 8, 1945. The couple farmed the family farm for several years. In 1960 they moved to Logan, Iowa. Delores worked at a variety of cafes including: the Chief Caf� in Logan, Fitch's Caf� in Missouri Valley and Logan, Ohler Brothers and the Marina in Blair, Nebraska. She also worked as a bartender at the Missouri Valley Hotel and the Corner Tavern in Logan. Tom and Delores owned and operated two taverns in Logan ~ the Farmer's Tavern and Tom & Dee's Tavern. Delores was most recently employed at the Rand Center in Missouri Valley.
Delores loved to play cribbage, bingo and go to the Casinos. She also enjoyed going out to eat.
Delores died on Monday, January 7, 2008, at the Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine, Iowa attaining the age of 80 years, six months, and 18 days.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom; daughter, Carol Ann Thomas; great grandson, Jaden Dunn; brother, Lyle Katzenberger; and five sisters, Anna McClain, Mabel Stevens, Marie Summers, Charlotte Petersen, and Miriam Boyd. She is survived by four sons, Kenneth (Barb) Koski of Aylett, Virginia, David (Diane) Koski of Lees Summit, Missouri, Greg (Dorothy) Koski of Ralston, Iowa, Phillip (Dawn) Koski of Logan, Iowa; son-in-law, Willie Thomas of Durant, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Bob Katzenberger of Woodbine, Iowa; Harold Katzenberger of Longmont, Colorado; brother-in-law, Neal Boyd of Everett, Washington; and many other relatives and friends.
