Dennis Hardy

     Dennis Allen Hardy was born on October 1, 1962, in Pisgah, Iowa to Harold and Annie Rea (Park) Hardy. He grew up in Woodbine, Iowa where he attended school. Dennis worked at Schemmer Rock Quarry, Fruehauf Trailer Corp, Kelly Ryan and most recently NMC CAT. He also owned his own welding business, where he was able to work with his brother Larry. Dennis married Cheryl Prussing on November 8, 1980, in Charter Oak, Iowa and they were blessed with three children, Jesse, Rachel and Brandon.

     Dennis led a life marked with hard work, dedication and a deep love for his family. Dennis found joy in the simple pleasures of life, always eager to immerse himself in a variety of hobbies. Whether he was tinkering in the garage, nurturing his garden or enjoying hunting days with his brothers and boys, he approached every endeavor with enthusiasm and a strong work ethic that inspired those around him. Dennis could often be found at Brandon's with Larry, cutting wood and creating memories that would last a lifetime. He also loved the trips to South Dakota. His granddaughters held a particularly special place in his heart, bringing him joy and happiness that illuminated his days.

     Dennis died on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at the age of 62 years, six months and 19 days.

     Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Arnold, Elton, Darrell and Larry Hardy. He is survived by his wife Cheryl of Woodbine; children, Jesse Hardy and his wife Heather of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Rachel and her husband David Mahlberg of Council Bluffs and Brandon “Bud” Hardy of Exira, Iowa; granddaughters, Ashlynn, Brynlee and Felecia; brothers, Wayne Hardy of Woodbine and Robbie Hardy of Pocatello, Idaho; and many other relatives and friends.
