Dennis Krediet

     Dennis Krediet was born on December 19, 1942, in Pierce, South Dakota to Marion and Gertrude (Timmer) Kredit. He attended school and graduated in Chicago, Illinois. Denny served his country in the Unites States Navy and was a US Marshall. He also served as a police officer in Sioux City, LeMars, Dunlap and Ute. For over 60 years Denny was a truck driver in the Dow City/Dunlap area. Denny was married to Billie Jo for over 21 years.

     Denny had a passion for camping and finding hidden gems and he loved to share that with Billie Jo.
In addition to his love for camping, Denny had an adventurous spirit that led him to embark on numerous trips around the world. Australia, Ireland, Scotland - these were just some of the destinations, and to many places across the continental United States.

     Denny died on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at the Denison Care Center at the age of 81 years and 28 days.

     Denny was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Wendell and Merlin. He is survived by his wife, Billie Jo of Dow City; children, Lori Horstman (Rick Hansen) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Kris (Ron) Mace of Coralville, Iowa, Sherry McCartney (Craig Hunt) of Omaha, Nebraska, Pete (Rosella) Hamblen of Minden, Iowa and Patrick Adams of Lincoln, Nebraska; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be Monday, January 22, 2024, at Fouts Funeral Home in Dunlap from 4-7 p.m. The family will be having a private graveside service.
