Donna Mae (Thomsen) Fountain was born January 11, 1931, to Chris and Dollie (Johnson) Thomsen in Missouri Valley, Iowa. She was raised between Missouri Valley and Beebeetown and graduated from Missouri Valley High School in 1949. On November 16, 1952, Donna Mae married Everette Fountain at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The couple lived on a farm between Missouri Valley and Logan as well as other farms in the area. In 1963 the couple moved into Logan. Donna Mae worked at Perfection Press, the Harrison County Court House and then as the church secretary.
Donna Mae was a member of the Logan United Methodist Church. She was very active in the United Methodist Women and the ladies circle. She enjoyed being in the Neighborhood Club and a card club. Donna Mae was an excellent cook. She crocheted, collected roosters and enjoyed playing shuffle board. The couple enjoyed going to Mesa, Arizona for 18 winters. They also enjoyed square dancing and were members of the Circle 8 Square Dance Club.
Donna Mae died on Sunday, March 4, 2012, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 81 years, one month, and 22 days.
Donna Mae was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Lucille Meadows and Leora Andersen. She is survived by her husband, Everette Fountain of Logan, Iowa; one son, Lynn (Ruth) Fountain of Council Bluffs, Iowa; one daughter, Sheri (David) Bauwens of Omaha, Nebraska; six grandsons; twin sister, Dortha Lea (Bernard) McIntosh of Neola, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
