Donnie Gale

Donald “Donnie” Lee Gale was born February 11, 1956, to Robert and Dolores (Wilfing) Gale in Omaha, Nebraska. He was raised in and attended school in Omaha. Donnie worked at the packing house in Omaha and for the Boys’ Club. Donnie married Lena Sapienza on April 21, 1979, in Cater Lake, Iowa. The couple made their home in Omaha. The family moved to Woodbine in September of 1988. Donnie was in the Laborer's Union and worked in construction. He retired from there in February of this year.

Donnie loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed being outside and working with his hands. He loved doing yard work and taking care of the pond. He was a jack of all trades and loved a challenge.

Donnie died April 22, 2011, at his home in Woodbine at the age of 55 years, two months, and 11 days.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Lena Gale of Woodbine, Iowa; three children, Jennifer and her husband Aaron Cline, Samantha and her husband Clinton Fitchhorn, Jonathon Gale and Cassandra Pauley all of Woodbine; six grandchildren, Cameron and Matthew Cline, and Austin, Landon, Owen and Peyton Fitchhorn; three brothers, Robert Gale and his wife Sharon of Omaha, Nebraska, Ralph Gale of Omaha, Nebraska, David Gale and his wife Connie of Villisca, Iowa; parents-in-law, Fred and Connie Sapienza of Carter Lake, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
