Doris Lillian (Dixon) Brock was born March 7, 1926, to Gerald and Ida (Hubbard) Dixon in rural Logan, Iowa. She attended county school in the Hardscratch area. Doris married Robert C. Brock on December 20, 1944 in the Methodist Parsonage in Logan. The couple farmed southwest of Dunlap on the same farm that Doris was still living on. Robert died on June 5, 1994.
Doris was a member of the Dunlap United Methodist Church. She was active with the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Friendly Neighbors Club in Dunlap and the Jolly Clique Club in Woodbine. Doris loved to cook, be with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Doris enjoyed gardening and she also took painting classes for a number of years.
Doris died on Sunday, May 14, 2006, at her home in rural Dunlap attaining the age of 80 years, two months, and seven days.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert; and her daughter Karla Brock-Karmann in April of 2004. She is survived by her two sons, Jerry Brock and his wife Kathy of Sheldon, Iowa, Gary Brock and his wife Vivian of Dunlap, Iowa; eight grand-children; seven great grandchildren; brother, Donnald Dixon and his wife Bev of Winlock, Washington; and many other relatives and friends.
