Doris worked as a substitute teacher until all the kids graduated from high school. She made wedding cakes for many people as well as her daughters and granddaughters. Doris was very active in the Methodist Church. She was one of the founding members of the Thrift Shop, helped serve many funeral lunches as well as made hundreds of apple pies each year for several years.
