Douglas Schaefer

Douglas Michael Schaefer was born May 14, 1964, to Murel and Carole (Dryden) Schaefer in Omaha, Nebraska. He graduated from Logan-Magnolia High School in 1982. Doug moved to Georgia and worked in the construction industry doing stucco work. He returned to Logan and married Tracy Grant on July 7, 1990, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Logan. The couple moved to Council Bluffs where Doug started his own business of Schaefer's Outsulation.

Doug loved spending time with his family and taking many family vacations. He also spent many nights at the soccer field cheering for his children. Doug enjoyed Nascar, and he was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker fan.

Doug died on Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa at the age of 42 years, 10 months and 13 days.

Doug was preceded in death by his father, Murel. He is survived by his wife, Tracy Schaefer and two children, Samantha and Zachary Schaefer all of Council Bluffs, Iowa; mother, Carole and her husband Scott Krajicek of Logan, Iowa; two brothers, Rick Schaefer and his wife Reynie of Fremont, Nebraska, Don Schaefer and his wife Jennie of Columbus, Nebraska; one sister, Sheryl Mumm of Harlan, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
