Duane Jake Weber was born on April 12, 1934 to Jacob and Gladys (Savery) Weber outside of Logan, Iowa. He grew up in Logan and graduated in the class of 1952. After graduation Duane served in the United States Army. After his honorable discharge, Duane worked at the Sunnyside Gas Station and at Vickers Hydraulics in Omaha, Nebraska before going to work on the farm fulltime. Duane married Marceta Whitmore on December 27, 1959 at the Logan Christian Church.
Duane was a hard worker and loved to farm. He and Marceta enjoyed playing cards and camping, especially at the Clay County Fair. Duane liked to fish, read the newspaper and watch the Farm Progress Show. More than anything, Duane loved his family. He spent many years making memories by giving golf cart and tractor rides and taking his family on scenic routes down memory lane.
