Elizabeth Schwab

Mary Elizabeth Schwab was born on November 8, 1910, to Casper and Mary (Prokosch) Schwab in Willow Township near Dunlap, Iowa. She graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School in 1928. After graduation Elizabeth helped her parents farm and later farmed with her brothers until 1950.

Elizabeth was a devout Catholic, and she loved her religion. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and also the Catholic Daughters where she held many offices including Regent. Elizabeth loved gardening ~ especially flowers, and she was devoted to her many cats.

Elizabeth died Saturday, July 10, 2010, at the Dunlap Nursing and Rehab Center in Dunlap, Iowa at the age of 99 years, eight months, and two days.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, George in infancy, Paul, Henry, and Carl Schwab; and sister-in-law, Mary Schwab. She is survived by her nephew, John Schwab of Dunlap, Iowa; two nieces, Joan Plowman of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Helen and Don McCluskey of Indianapolis, Indiana; two great nephews, Sean McCluskey of Indianapolis, Indiana, Carl Michael Plowman of Council Bluffs, Iowa; godson, Joseph Garrett of Dunlap, Iowa, and many other relatives and friends.
