Ella Siebels

Ella Elnora (Christensen) Siebels was born June 22, 1912, in Woodbine, Iowa to Peter and Mary (Jensen) Christensen. She was raised and went to school in Woodbine. On February 4, 1932, she married Carl Siebels in Omaha, Nebraska. The couple farmed near Logan in their first years of marriage. They then operated a trucking business and later the Siebels Caf� in Woodbine. To this union one daughter was born. Their daugter, Gayle Lea, died in 1955 at the age of 20 from cancer. Carl died in 1970. After Carl died Ella worked at Rose Vista Nursing Home until retiring.

Ella was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Woodbine where she had been active in the ladies circle. She was also a volunteer at the Golden Age Center. She enjoyed quilting and quilted at the Golden Age Center with the other ladies. She also enjoyed reading, playing cards and visiting with her friends.

Ella died on Saturday, January 17, 2009, at the Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine, Iowa at the age of 96 years, six months, and 26 days.

Ella was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter and three brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
