Ernest Haberberger

Ernest Joseph Haberberger was born September 30, 1920, to George and Anna (Gross) Haberberger in Earling, Iowa. He was raised in Earling and attended school there. He worked for the CC Camp in the 1940s. In 1950 Ernest married Lou Ann Hopp. The couple was blessed with two boys. Ernest worked for several area farmers. He then worked for 25 years at Peterson manufacturing in Denison.

Ernest enjoyed visiting with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed his garden and canning its produce.

Ernest died on Monday, March 31, 2008, at the Denison Care Center in Denison, Iowa attaining the age of 87 years, six months, and one day.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; five sisters; two siblings in infancy; and one grandson, Shawn Haberberger. He is survived by his two sons, Gene Haberberger and his wife Marlys of Schleswig, Iowa, Lee Haberberger and his wife Patricia of Dow City, Iowa; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight step-great grandchildren; two sisters, Viola Hastert of Woodbine, Iowa, Geraldine Coleman of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and many other family and friends.
