Frances Burmeister

Frances Anna (Purdy) Burmeister was born on January 14, 1925, to Harry and Elizabeth (Doughty) Purdy in Madison, Nebraska, She attended school in Madison. After she graduated from high school she enrolled in cosmetology school in Lincoln. She worked in both Lincoln and Madison. Frances married Carl Roy Burmeister in Madison, Nebraska on October 12, 1952. To this union three sons were born, David, Duane and Dennis. Frances and Carl farmed east of Woodbine for many years until Carl's death in 1982. During these years, Frances was a full-time homemaker. After Carl's death she moved into Woodbine and enjoyed spending time with friends, bowling and dancing. Frances was a member of the Woodbine United Methodist Church.

Frances died on Saturday, September 13, 2014, at the Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine, Iowa at the age of 89 years, seven months, and 30 days.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Leola Radant and husband, Carl Burmeister. She is survived by her 3 sons, Dave (Marsha) Burmeister, Duane (Karen) Burmeister, Dennis Burmeister; 7 grandchildren, Eric (Sarah) Burmeister, Greg Burmeister, Ryan Burmeister, David (Karly) Burmeister, Michelle Burmeister, Michael Burmeister and Ben (Mary) Michael; and many other relatives and friends.
