Geraldine Heide

Geraldine Ann (Bryan) Heide was born April 3, 1930, in Dunlap, Iowa to Chester and Margaret (Jones) Bryan. She graduated from Dunlap High School in 1947. After graduating she moved to Council Bluffs and worked for an insurance company for a few years. She then moved back to Dunlap and worked at the Sugar Bowl, Dunlap Grill and bartended for Hugh O'Day and Fritz Baldwin. Geraldine married Ronald Heide on June 14, 1958. Ronald died in 1982, and Geraldine moved to Clarinda, Iowa in 1984. She worked for Iowa Workforce for ten years and then transferred to Denison with Iowa Workforce. She retired from Iowa Workforce in 1998.

Geraldine enjoyed playing cards, crossword puzzles and embroidering. She also enjoyed baking and reading.

Geraldine died February 28, 2010, at the Dunlap Nursing and Rehab Center at the age of 79 years, 10 months, and 25 days.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald in 1982; two brothers, Paul and Kenneth Bryan; and three sisters, Doretha Morrison, Kathryn Neiler, and Helen Foley. She is survived by her four children, Deb Frazier of Dunlap, Iowa, Candi Otterpohl and her husband Michael of Missouri Valley, Iowa, Norman Andersen and his wife Carol of Denison, Iowa and Rodney Andersen and his wife Joni of Clarinda, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brother, David Bryan and his wife Edna Mae of Colorado Springs, Colorado and many other relatives and friends.
