Georgia Grace (Rustin) Hinkel was born July 29, 1914, to Orville and Lucy Ann (Millard) Rustin in Spring Valley Township in Monona County, Iowa. She was raised in Moorhead and graduated from Moorhead High School. Grace married William Hinkel on June 15, 1935. Grace worked for the Moorhead Caf� and West Central Development Head Start.
Grace was a member of the Moorhead Christian Church where she served as a Deaconess. She was also a member of the Peter A. Hanson Legion Auxiliary. Grace was the queen of the Moorhead Centennial in 2000. Grace enjoyed gardening and having a cup of coffee with family and friends.
Grace died on Sunday, April 18, 2010, at the Dunlap Nursing and Rehab Center in Dunlap, Iowa at the age of 95 years, eight months, and 20 days.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Hinkel on July 18, 1966; one infant grandson; four brothers, John, Carl, Earl and Morris Rustin; and two sisters, Adah Welliver and Florence Lucas. She is survived by her four children, Ronald "Ray" (Janet) Hinkel of Sioux City, Iowa, Marilyn (Francis) Mumm of Dunlap, Iowa, Janet Hinkel of Moorhead, Iowa, Joyce Hinkel of Council Bluffs, Iowa; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; 12 step great grandchildren; four step great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Delores Rustin of Whiting, Iowa, Virgil Hinkel of Missouri Valley, Iowa, Vivian Hinkel of Missouri Valley, Iowa and Carol Hinkel of Toole, Utah and many other relatives and friends.
