H. Gardner

Harriett Jane (Straley) Gardner was born February 14, 1917, to William and Daisey (Luellen) Weaver in Rockport, Missouri. In 1942 she married Milton Gardner. Jane worked in Omaha in the office of a retail store. The couple moved to Missouri Valley, Iowa. She then worked at Longview Nursing Home in Missouri Valley. She also took care of her parents as they aged. Her husband Milton died September 1, 1989. Jane loved to visit with friends and work crossword puzzles.

Jane died October 21, 2003, at the Rose Vista Nursing Home reaching the age of 86 years, eight months, and seven days.

Jane is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Billie Stearns. She is survived by her brother-in-law Merrill Gardner of Logan, Iowa; sister-in-law Lois Harris of Blair, Nebraska; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, October 23, 2003 at the Fouts Funeral Home in Woodbine with Rev. Shurmaine McAlpine officiating. Margaret Cotton played the organ. Burial was in Westlawn Hillcrest Cemetery in Omaha, NE.
