Herbert Leo Clark was born January 24, 1931, to Lucian Francis and Elva Alvina (Reeves) Clark in rural Pisgah, Iowa. He was raised near Pisgah and attended school in Pisgah graduating from Pisgah High School in 1949. Herb proudly served his country in the United States Navy. After his honorable discharge he returned to Pisgah and farmed. Herb married Bonnie Price in 1953. Herb became a resident in the Longview Nursing Home on May 2, 2014.
Herb was a member of the Little Sioux Church of Christ, the Masonic Lodge also in Little Sioux, and the Abu Behr Shrine in Sioux City, Iowa. He served on the Mondamin Co-op Board and the Pisgah Bank Board for a number of years.
Herb died on Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at the Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa at the age of 84 years, eight months, and 12 days.
Herb was preceded in death by his parents; four siblings, Francis Clark, Eleanor Peterson, Velman Clark and Delmar Clark; and two grandsons, Brandon Clark and Cole Hutchinson. He is survived by his four children, Craig (Pam) Clark of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Pam (Garry) Hutchinson of Carroll, Iowa, Jeff (Denise) Clark of Pisgah, Iowa, and Rick Clark of Omaha, Nebraska; 12 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, LeRoy Clark of Woodbine, Iowa; Lawrence (Yvonne) Clark of Richmond, Missouri; and many other relatives and friends.
