Irene Quick

Irene Myrtle (Points) Quick was born June 4, 1918, to Wilfred and Flora (Wonderlick) Points in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She was raised in Missouri Valley and many other areas since her father worked for the railroad. Irene married Ferril Dale Quick on November 25, 1938, in Onawa, Iowa. The couple was blessed with two boys, Ferril Dale Jr., and Victor Ronald. Irene retired from working at First National Bank in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Irene was baptized in the RLDS Church in 1948. She was an active member of the Community of Christ in Woodbine. She was involved with teaching Sunday school, she was the church school director, and the Women's leader at her many different church locations. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the El Deen Club. Irene worked at and was a board member of the meal site. She enjoyed watching the Discovery channel, the Travel channel, and musicals. She also loved to read, paint, knit, crochet, and ceramics. While at Rose Vista, Irene taught several of the other residents about the fine art of ceramics.

Irene died on June 21, 2007, at Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa attaining the age of 89 years and 17 days.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ferril; grandson, Michael Quick; brother, Victor Points; and sister, Ethel Baker. She is survived by two sons, Dale Quick and his wife Judy of Woodbine, Iowa, Ron Quick and his wife Doris of Treynor, Iowa; eight grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
