Irving Bamford

Irving Junior "Bud" Bamford was born September 20, 1940, to William Irving and Opal Aleen (McHenry) Bamford in rural Woodbine, Iowa. He was raised in the Woodbine area and graduated from Woodbine High School in 1959. Bud proudly served his country in the United States Army. After his honorable discharge Bud moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa and lived with his sister, Bertha. Bud worked at a packing house and later lived in some group homes. The last home was in Denison, Iowa. He became a resident of the Rose Vista Nursing Home in 2004.

Bud enjoyed singing songs and he liked to bless the food for all the residents at Rose Vista.

Bud died on Friday, June 11, 2010, at Rose Vista Nursing Home in Woodbine, Iowa at the age of 69 years, eight months and 22 days.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Beverly Sailors in 1998, Genevieve Clausen in 2003; and one brother, William Bamford in 2001. He is survived by his five sisters, Bertha Bamford of Woodbine, Iowa, Kathleen Ellison of Woodbine, Iowa, Jean Burkhart of Logan, Iowa, Virginia Orr of Sioux City, Iowa, Irvalee Ulmer of Florida; and many other relatives and friends.

There will be a private family burial.
