Jane Mether

Jane Ann (Herman) Mether was born on July 16, 1942, in Council Bluffs, Iowa to parents Arthur and Della (Henderson) Herman. She grew up west of Pisgah and then the family moved to Magnolia where she attended and graduated from high school. Jane married Donald Mether on May 6, 1961. To this union six children were born. Jane worked as a para-educator at the Logan-Magnolia Schools.

Jane cherished all children. She loved babysitting, playing with and teaching them. She also enjoyed cooking, reading, playing cards and riding horses. Jane taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and AWANA throughout the years. She often helped drive kids to church programs.

Jane was called home on Saturday, December 29, 2018, at her home northwest of Logan at the age of 76 years, five months and 13 days.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Donald Herman and her grandson, Kyler. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Donald Mether of Logan, Iowa; six children, Douglas Mether and his wife Sarah of Logan, Iowa, Richard Mether and his wife Tammi of Moorhead, Iowa, Deborah Mether of Magnolia, Iowa, Denise and her husband Kyle Dobbs of Logan, Iowa, Dustin Mether and his wife Christina of Magnolia, Iowa and Derrick Mether and his wife Corrie of Logan, Iowa;  chosen daughter, Deanna Danielson of Magnolia, Iowa; 20 grandchildren plus one on the way; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bob Herman and his wife Jan of Modale, Iowa and Dave Herman and his wife Sheryl of  Missouri Valley, Iowa and many other relatives and friends.
