Jerry Jensen

Jerry Joseph Jensen was born May 12, 1938, to LeRoy and Madge (Batten) Jensen in Eureka, Utah. He grew up in Richfield, Utah and graduated from Richfield High School in 1956. After his high school graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy. Jerry married Verdene Swift on May 14, 1961, in San Diego, California. Jerry retired from the Navy after serving his country for 22 years. The couple continued to make their home in San Diego while Jerry worked for Data Graphic. They moved to Glenwood, Iowa in 1994, and Jerry worked for First National Bank in Omaha, NE until November of 1999.
Jerry was a member of the Community of Christ in Council Bluffs. He was also a member of the Fleet Reserve Association. He enjoyed hunting and target practice. He especially enjoyed using a black powder gun.
Jerry died on Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at the Hospice House in Omaha, Nebraska attaining the age of 67 years, nine months, and 17 days.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brother; and an infant sister. He is survived by his wife, Verdene of Glenwood, Iowa; daughter Nina and her husband John Tourek of Glenwood, Iowa; two sons, Kenneth Madison and his wife Dixie of Salem, Oregon, Vernon Madison of Omaha, Nebraska; granddaughter, Chris and her husband Scott Orsborn of Omaha; grandson John (Jay) Tourek of Omaha; one step granddaughter, Tami Butcher; two great grandsons, Ryan & Brad Halford; two sisters, Jean and her husband Gerald Stromberg of Salt Lake City, Utah, Patricia Fasett of Reno, Nevada; and many other relatives and friends.
