James Milton Niedermyer was born November 29, 1947, to Milton and Mary (Epperson) Niedermyer in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He grew up in the Magnolia area and graduated from Logan-Magnolia High School in 1966. He then attended the University of Iowa and graduated from there in 1972. Jim entered the United States Army and served his country from 1972 until 1994. Jim married Linda Jensen on January 26, 1974. The couple was blessed with two children, Matt and Maddy. Jim was the Woodbine city clerk before taking a job at Keenan Rentals. He was currently employed at Wiese Equipment as the parts manager. Throughout these jobs, Jim also enjoyed carpentry and masonry work. Jim and Robin Viereck-Williams were married on Valentine's Day.
Jim was a member of the Jaycee's. He loved spending time with his two granddaughters. He also enjoyed Nascar racing, hunting, mushroom hunting, collecting "stuff," and tinkering on things in the garage.
Jim died on Sunday, April 9, 2006, at his home attaining the age of 58 years, four months, and 11 days.
Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Robin; son, Matt (Tara) Niedermyer; daughter, Madelyn (Heath) Brunow; two granddaughters, Alexandra and Josephine Niedermyer; step-son, Jordan Williams all of Woodbine, Iowa; parents, Milton and Mary Niedermyer of Pisgah, Iowa; two brothers, Tom (Patty) Niedermyer of Magnolia, Iowa, Frank (Stephanie) Niedermyer of Council Bluffs, Iowa; two sisters, Marilyn (Danny) Newland of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Hazel (Les) Granum of Omaha, Nebraska; his dog, Baby; and many other relatives and friends.
