JoAnn Rose (Weber) Davie was born August 30, 1932, to Henry John and Helen Irene "Nell" (Houlihan) Weber in Boyer Township Dunlap,Iowa. JoAnn attended country school then St. Joseph Catholic School graduating in 1950. She worked at Boystown in Omaha, as a waitress in Dunlap, and she also cleaned many of the Dunlap businesses. JoAnn married Jim Davie on February 14, 1953, at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Dunlap.
JoAnn was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church and St. Patrick's Altar Society. She enjoyed her grandchildren and cooking for family and friends. She also enjoyed card playing, mushroom hunting, and fishing. JoAnn loved to chat over a good cup of coffee.
JoAnn died on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa at the age of 76 years, six months, and 25 days.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents; three infant siblings, Ronnie, Dorothy and Phyllis Weber; five sisters, Irene Schaefer, Delores Rethmeier, Marie Honaker, Lucille Kendall and Millie Heller; two brothers, Ray and Donald Weber, and three grandchildren, one infant and Jeff and Joey Heuwinkel. She is survived by her husband of 56 years Jim Davie of Dunlap, Iowa; two sons, Thomas (Denise) Davie of Dunlap, IA, Kevin (Jill) Davie of Omaha, NE; five daughters, Rebecca (Tim) Heuwinkel of LaVista, NE, Karol (Clancy) Murphy of Dunlap, IA, Karen (Ken) Hughes and Patty (Barry) Vaske all of Omaha, NE, Chris (Brad) O'Day of Dunlap, IA; 18 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Lorraine) Weber of Dunlap, IA; and many other relatives and friends.
