Graveside services for John Lamberson, 72 of Logan, Iowa will be at 10:30 am, Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at the Magnolia Cemetery. There will be a lunch and visitation following the graveside services at the Logan Community Center.
Memorials may be given to the Logan or Magnolia Fire & Rescue Departments.


John Grosvenor Lamberson was born on September 28, 1937, near Magnolia, Iowa to parents Charles and Dorothy (Grosvenor) Lamberson, Sr. John graduated from Magnolia Consolidated High School in 1955. He started farming after graduation and then proudly served his country in the United States Army. John was honorably discharged in 1962 and resumed farming. On November 30, 1984, John married Kay Jeanne Freymuller in Logan. The couple continued to farm in the Magnolia area. John also worked part time for Pryor Auctioning of Logan, Iowa.

John was a member of the Magnolia American Legion O'Hara Seeley Post 612. He enjoyed playing on the town team for baseball and softball. He also enjoyed hunting fishing, collecting John Deere toys and going to auctions.

John died on Friday June 25, 2010 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa at the age 72 years, eight months and 28 days.

John was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Kay Jeanne Lamberson of Logan, Iowa; sister, Jo and her husband Bob Powley of Woodbine, Iowa; brother, Charles Lamberson and his wife Darlene of Logan, Iowa; nieces, Terri Powley and Jean Lamberson both of Missouri Valley, Iowa, Jona Lamberson of Glenwood, Iowa, Becky and Mark West of Scottsdale, Arizona, Rebecca Adolphson of Burnsville, Minnesota, Brigid Freymuller of Iowa City, Iowa; nephews, Mike and Sherrie Powley and Gail and Kristina Lamberson all of Logan, Iowa and Mark and Robyn Powley of Wilmer, Alabama; brothers-in-law, Bill and Kay Freymuller and Bob Freymuller, all of Omaha, Nebraska; many other relatives and friends.
