June Florence (Baber) Bohacek was born June 9, 1915, to Florence (Munsey) and Jay Baber in Dow City, Iowa. She grew up in the Dow City area and graduated from Scribner, NE High School in 1932. June married Edward Bohacek on February 5, 1937, in Nevada, Iowa. The couple lived in Loyal, Wisconsin; Plymouth, Wisconsin; Monroe, Wisconsin; Norwood Park, Illinois; Des Plaines, Illinois. Ed died on May 20, 1996.
June enjoyed knitting. Her family was her biggest joy. The family never went out to eat because June wanted the fix the meal and share the day's events with her family. June was also an active volunteer at the Monroe Hospital gift shop
June died on Saturday, March 25, 2006, at the DeKalb Area Retirement Center in DeKalb, Illinois attaining the age of 90 years, nine months, and 16 days.
June was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ed; three brothers, Jay, Bud and Bob Baber; and one sister, Nell Jean Brasel. She is survived by her two children, Bob Bohacek and his wife Linda of EauClaire, Wisconsin; Sue and her husband Shane Bronston of Geneva, Illinois; four grandchildren, Bryant and Jamie Bohacek, and Stacey and Courtney Bronston; one sister, Avis Fouts of Dunlap, Iowa; one brother Bill Baber of Derby, Kansas; and many other relatives and friends.
Memorial graveside services 10:30 am Saturday, April 15, 2006 at the Dow City Cemetery with Pastor Judy Deweber officiating.
