Kathryn "Katie" (Botos) Randall was born March 16, 1923, to Paul and Rosalia (Emrie) Botos in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Katie attended school in Missouri Valley and she graduated from Missouri Valley High School in 1941. She then attended Dana College and received her teaching degree. Katie taught in the country school in Old Town Missouri Valley and Honey Creek, Iowa. She then taught in Missouri Valley Elementary School for 39 years. On March 9, 1984, Rev. James Campbell married Katie and Richard Randall at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Missouri Valley. The couple lived in Dunlap.
Katie was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Missouri Valley. She was the church organist and was also a Sunday school teacher. She loved flowers and gardening, birds, baking, cooking and helping others. She would also read her Bible every morning.
Katie died on Saturday, September 27, 2014, in Baltimore, Maryland.
Katie was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Paul Jr., Charles, Bill and Steve Botos and sister, Rosie Deal. She is survived by her husband, Dick Randall of Dunlap, Iowa; stepchildren, Jim (Linda) Randall of Mondamin, Iowa, Jay (Lynn) Randall of Dunlap, Iowa, Julie (Lee) Kaufmann of Harlan, Iowa, Joyce (Phil) Buxton of Springfield, Missouri; sister, Agnes Szepi of Bensenville, Illinois; 20 nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
