Kenneth Barnard Argotsinger was born March 27, 1919, to Glen and Viola (McIntosh) Argotsinger in Galland's Grove near Dunlap, Iowa. He attended country school in Galland's Grove, two years of high school in Dunlap and graduated from Dow City High School in 1937. Kenneth married Betty Riddle on June 17, 1939, at Woodbine, Iowa. The couple farmed in Dow City, Iowa. In 1943 they began farming east of Woodbine and in 1945 purchased the farm Kenneth was still living on.
Kenneth was a member of the Community of Christ. He was president of the school board for District 7 Country School. He was an avid reader and enjoyed his cup of coffee at Pronto. He loved to watch baseball and he enjoyed playing this sport when he was younger. He also enjoyed hunting, wood cutting, and working on the farm.
Kenneth died Monday, June 23, 2008, at his home in Woodbine, Iowa at the age of 89 years, two months, and 27 days.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; wife Betty on April 15, 1987; grandson Kenneth Scott Argotsinger; and son-in-law, Steven Anderson. He is survived by eight children, Larry (Bonnie) Argotsinger of Oakland, IA, James (Karen) Argotsinger of Smithville, MO, Patty Mcquire of St. Joseph, MO, Diana (Jay) Lowrey of Omaha, NE, Dennis (Connie) Argotsinger of Macon, MO, Judy Anderson of Anchorage, AK, Gale Argotsinger of Omaha, NE, Debbie (Lee) Fillian of Creston, IA; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Verdine Red of Tabor, Iowa; brother, Darrell (Mary)Argotsinger of Woodbine, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.
