Kenneth Truxton Mohn was born May 3, 1925, to Ole and Guri (Breiset) Mohn in Moorhead, Iowa. He was raised in the Moorhead and Woodbine areas and graduated from Woodbine High School. Kenneth worked for Dale & Willa Barry as a farmhand. He attended Iowa State University for a time and then farmed with his brother, Alfred. Kenneth proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. After his honorable discharge, Kenneth returned to farming with Alfred and then farmed on his own in the Moorhead area. Kenneth married Verla Smith on October 6, 1948. The couple farmed near Woodbine and Moorhead. They were blessed with five children. Kenneth married Carol Powell on February 19, 1982, at the Bethesda Lutheran Church in Moorhead. On December 23, 1998 the couple moved to Woodbine.

Kenneth was a member of the Bethesda Lutheran Church in Moorhead, the Woodbine Saddle Club, the Woodbine and Logan VFW, and the Woodbine and Moorhead American Legion; where he served as the Moorhead Legion Commander. He loved to farm and go to the farm. He also enjoyed horses and dogs.

Kenneth died May 7, 2009, at Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iowa at the age of 84 years and four days.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Harold, Floyd, Walt & Clarence Mohn; and two sisters, Evelyn McGee and Clara Renz. He is survived by his wife, Carol Mohn of Woodbine, IA; five children, Dorothy Dunham of Canon City, CO, Merrill (Hazel) Mohn of Woodbine, IA, Shirley (Dick) Molden of Springfield, MO, Dan Mohn of Moorhead, IA, Nancy (Steve) Stransky of Centralia, IL, two step children, Mark Worth, Kristie Wainscott & Jeff Watkins all of Woodbine, IA; 19 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Alfred Mohn; sister-in-law, Rachel Mohn all of Woodbine, IA; and many other relatives and friends.
