Kenneth Moores

Kenneth Harold Moores was born August 9, 1922, to Floyd and Hazel (Barnhart) Moores in the home where he still resided. He grew up on the family farm southeast of Woodbine. He attended Crane country school and Woodbine high school. Kenneth married Minnie Rudolph on February 14, 1945. To this union were born eight children.
� Kenneth farmed until the day of his accident. He also held various jobs throughout his life. He drove a school bus, was a Woodbine police officer and city maintenance worker, worked at the city landfill, drove a truck for Ralph Hammack, and spent many years milking cows. He was a member of the Woodbine Saddle Club and an honorary member of the Hillblazer Club.
� Kenneth was very proud to have his family present with him in 2003 at the Iowa State Fair to be awarded the Century Farm. He always looked forward to family gatherings and spending time with all the grandchildren and great grandchildren. His greatest pleasures were watching his grandchildren, his horses and his livestock. He said his hobby was eating. Kenneth never knew a stranger.
� Kenneth passed away on April 24, 2006, at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 83 years 8 months and 15 days.
� Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; brother, George; son, George; and grandchildren Allison Dinslage and Bryan Dinslage. He is survived by Minnie, his wife of 61 years; children Kenny and Wanda Moores of Woodbine, Zennith and Gola Wilber of Hastings, Iowa, David and Cheryl Moores of Woodbine, Patty and Neil Bracker of Alton, Iowa, Terry and Jeanne Moores of Woodbine, Kim and Ralph Samson of Lacona, Iowa, and Konda and Ron Slagle of Woodbine; one brother Dallas and Delores Moores of Sidney, Iowa; three sisters Cecil Lyman of Omaha, Goldie and George Barta of Bellevue, and Barbara and Jim Smyser of Omaha; 23 grand-children; 14 great grandchildren; honorary Grandpa to Jamie Hoefer who shared his love of farming; and many nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.
